Samue
Samue is an uniform for monks for daily Samu (all kind of daily practice including cleaning and cooking) at temple.
In the modern time, Samue is popular also outside of temple as leisure wear or as workwear in the profession such as Japanese restaurant, Wagashi pastry, gardening, pottery, massage, or service in Ryokan.
There are many Samue producers in Japan, but there are a very few, who really cares the quality of textile.
There are two textiles at Onoda, indigo blue or mud dyed black. Both of them are slowly ageing as you wear and the texture will be more deeply beautiful.
