Mending in Sashiko and Boro Style

Your favourite clothes with stains or holes can be repaired in Boro and Sashiko style with appropriate Japanese threads and fabrics. Please bring them in and we can have a look together.

The beauty of mending lies in the imperfection. What matter is the sense of aesthetic and the quality of materials, both thread and fabric: a repaired cloth shouldn’t look tinkered, but have a higher value than before. A mended cloth must tell the history itself.

The price varies on each piece. To get an idea, the mending like the photo cost 50.-. Mending is done solely by hand-stitch with Japanese thread and fabric.

Sashiko Workshop

The Sashiko workshop can be taken place from 3 persons. If you collect 3 persons, I can try to adjust the date and time except for the shop opening hours. The duration of course is about 3 to 3.5 hours. The price is 135.- per person including materials. The language can be done in German or English. For more information, please make an inquiry.

Made to measure shirt and blouse made of shuttle-woven Japanese fabric

The fabric woven with an old shuttle-loom machine has a very gentle texture. The textile weaver who produces this kind of fabric is getting rare and rare. If you like the texture of fabric, which was often seen until ca. 80’s, this shirt is for you.

Made in Japan, both fabric and shirt.
